Location
Cheadle is an attractive historic market town with a population of around 12,450 (2024 Census) lying on the edge of the Peak District National Park and Churnet Valley in Staffordshire Moorlands. The Victorian town centre is home to a number of independent and national retailers, along with Morrisons supermarket and leisure centre. Significant local employers include the JCB and the Alton Towers Adventure Park.
Situated in a desirable semi rural position, the property lies to the north of the B5417 Oakamoor Road on the town’s north eastern rural edge, approximately half a mile from the town centre.
Established residential properties lie to the west and north and represent the extent of the town’s built edge. Agricultural land lies beyond the B5417 to the south.
Immediately to the north lies the Hale’s Hall Pool, a made body of water dating from around 1822 with walking path along its southern edge connecting a small car park to the east and Rudyard Way to the west. The flora and fauna around the Pool edges along with bird and insect life are recognised for their importance.
Stoke on Trent lies approximately 11 miles (by road) to the east. Uttoxeter lies to the south east (9 miles) whilst Leek (10 miles) and Ashbourne (13 miles) lie to the north east.
