Last week, James Lutton and Laura Bell McMillan attended the annual Prize Giving Ceremony for Liverpool John Moores University’s (LJMU) School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment at the iconic Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.
Every year, Legat Owen sponsor one of the prizes at these awards, and this year it was for the “Best Level 6 Full Time Student in Real Estate”, which was awarded to Rosie Tizzard.
Rosie was unfortunately unable to attend the event so James and Laura Bell presented the prize to Emma Mulliner, Lecturer in Real Estate at LJMU, on Rosie’s behalf.
Legat Owen are a long-time industry sponsor of these awards, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to supporting students through their studies to chartership with the RICS, whatever route they choose. Currently the firm has two graduate surveyors working for them, one placement student, and have recently taken on an apprentice in the building surveying department.
We look forward to further engagement with LJMU though job and placement opportunities for graduates, guest talks and providing real experience for students of what we as surveyors do on a day-to-day basis, by way of demonstrations of real property inspections and real examples of the work we undertake.
Legat Owen also has established relationships with a number of other built environment higher education providers including the University College of Estate Management (UCEM), Sheffield Hallam University, Nottingham Trent University, Salford University and Northumbria University.
