Acting on behalf of Tesco, Legat Owen has completed the acquisition of two new stores in Stockport and Cottam, Preston.
Commenting on the Local Authority-owned Merseyway Shopping Centre in Stockport, James Lutton Director at Legat Owen said:
“The location was never identified as a strategic location for Tesco, however the regeneration of Stockport attracted us to this site given the footfall generated by the new transport interchange and residential developments.”
Barker Proudlove acted for the landlord on the Stockport site.
Regarding the Cottam site James Lutton commented:
“The site at Cottam in Preston has been 7 years in the making. This site was first identified for our client, Tesco, in November 2017 and finally opened its doors to the public in December 2024!”
This site is located within the North Preston Masterplan which is identified to accommodate approximately 3,500 new homes and a new east/west link road. Strategically located at the heart of the project, the site fronts the new link road and is adjacent to a new care home being delivered by Liberty Properties.
